I feel I was born with a passion for painting and drawing. Some of my earliest memories are of drawing portraits of  my family  and trying to copy my father's collection of old paintings and prints, by doing this I taught myself to paint.

My parents  always encouraged me and bought me oil paints and watercolors.

I  remember the magic of receiving art materials and still feel that excitement today.

While growing up I was always fascinated by art in many forms and over the years I have  experimented with everything I could get my hands on including clay, stained glass, collage, screen printing, paper mache and more.

When my children were young we spent many a camping holiday in Dorset and I fell in love with the beautiful beaches and landscape of the Purbeck area and in 2006 we decided to move from London to Poole.

Since then I have pursuing my career as an artist. The beautiful vistas of The Purbeck area give me so much pleasure and  inspire me to try and capture the magic of it all in my acrylic paintings. I love walking  and exploring with my dog Marley and feel driven to express the wonder of the natural world.

I love the changing colours of the sea. The waves, the surf, the shoreline, the sand dunes, the rolling hills and everything!!

I've had my work in various galleries  and in 2015  won the  Dorset Arts and Crafts Centurion Cup for outstanding Fine Art Landscape for my painting of Studland beach.

I also won a prize in the Poole Museum Open in 2014  to have a solo exhibition for the National Trust on Brownsea Island.

Last year I had my first exhibition with Dorset Art Weeks which was a great success and I enjoyed meeting visitors and discussing my work.

I have also been invited into several schools in Poole and Bournemouth and given talks and demonstrations to year one children as part of their art curriculum. They went on to produce their own work based on what they had learnt and had their own exhibition of wonderful paintings.

I have also taught Beginners Acrylic Painting Workshops in the Artisan Community Studio in Bournemouth. It was a joy to pass on some of my experience and encourage people to experiment and gain confidence in their ability to paint.

I am a member of Poole and East Dorset Art Society and was Chairman of the Dolphin Studio Workshop.

I  also enjoy Life Drawing and and experimenting with charcoal and pastels.

My work is currently exhibited in the Originals Gallery Poole.
